FEATURES

K’Bro is a fun game and safe place for you to express what you’re feeling. Growing up can be tough especially when you might not be sure who to turn to for emotional guidance. Luckily, K’Bro is here to help! With our useful features, you will have access to:

When you play the Am I OK game and name your emotions it helps your practice identifying what you’re feeling. K’Bro asks you to name 4 emotions out of 12 (6 positive options and 6 negative options) for four categories in your life: School, Family Life, Social Life and Everything Else. This helps K’Bro pinpoint if you are not doing OK and which aspect of your life is where you’re having issues. This results in an Am I OK? score every time you play.
Deal With It! is the place where you will find advice on how to maneuver through various life questions or ask questions of your Tribe. My Tribe is an anonymous online community where you can feel safe sharing your experiences and feelings as well as supporting others. My Tribe has unique anonymous sharing sites for Middle school and High school age groups so be sure to enter the correct age when you sign up. Kids in elementary school get all the benefits of K’Bro but do not have access to My Tribe.
Speak Up is the place where you can practice how to advocate for yourself. You can get feedback on how best to say something from those in your tribe, or simply share to get something off your chest. Your My Tribe peers can provide feedback by rating your comments “Helpful” or “Hurtful” to help you find the best way to provide feedback to someone. You can also just track what you share in the K’Bro journal.
What’s Up? is the feature that allows you to share the best stuff in your life to your journal or post on “My Tribe.” Each day you’ll be asked three questions to highlight what’s going right in your life. If you have a “not so OK day” on the index, you’ll be reminded of all the stuff that’s going right to help give you the emotional boost you need to start to feel better.

The I Wonder? game encourages users to reframe their negative thinking into positive thinking, which results in healthier and a more optimistic outlook on life. Users are presented with five options to choose from and in order to receive awards, they will need to select the correct I Wonder? question, better fit to help develop positive thinking. The acorn awards the user receives allows for positive reinforcement, which is a great way to encourage the user to continue practicing choosing positive thoughts to overcome difficult challenges.

The Happiness Coach will chat with you about common teen and tween issues like school, friends and romantic partners, and family. You can also talk about things like anxiety, depression or self-harm. If the Happiness Coach is worried about your safety they’ll encourage you to reach out for additional support from national crisis support services or your local county mental health provider.
